Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancellation policy?
We provide a 100% refund if guests provide us with 7 days notice prior to the pickup time and date of the water taxi booking. In the case of inclement weather and we are unable to serve you, a full refund will be processed. Our Captains do reserve the right to change/modify the route without notice, due to any weather or other safety concerns.
What is included in the water taxi fare?
A captain, mate, fuel, and assorted beverages are included in our water taxi services. The captain and crew will also handle all international customs paperwork for your trip.
Is ground transportation included from STT Airport to Last Mile Water Taxi?
No, this is not included in our water taxi quote, however, Last Mile Water Taxi works with many taxi companies and can arrange to have a private driver for your group to get to our marina at your cost. Generally, private shuttles from the airport to Crown Bay (if going to St John) or Red Hook (if going to BVI) for a group of 6 will be ~$50 or $130, respectively. Please let us know if you would like us NOT to arrange transport for your group.
Where do you depart from on St Thomas (STT)?

We depart from the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook, St Thomas and Crown Bay Marina near the STT airport.  Red Hook is on the eastern end of St. Thomas and about a 35-45 minute taxi ride from the airport. For those traveling to St John, as long as the weather cooperates, we will always leave from Crown Bay Marina for the journey to St John.

Will there be drinks on board?
We will have assorted complimentary beverages on board and these usually include a range of: water, soda (coke, sprite, ginger ale), spritzers, and beer.
What happens if our flight is late and BVI customs closes?
If your flight is delayed and we cannot clear in at the closest Port of Entry (West End, Sopers Hole), we will then go to Road Town, Tortola. Road Town currently closes at 8:00PM. In these cases we would need to apply for a late clearance (which can only be done the day of), and would incur an additional expense. We recommend booking a flight into that St. Thomas that lands no later than 3:30-4:00PM. Similarly, your departure flight out of St. Thomas should be no earlier than 1:00PM if coming from the BVI to ensure ample time to clear customs back into the US.
How long will the customs process take?
It usually takes 30-45minutes, depending on number of people in your group as well as traffic in the ports. We submit all paperwork in advance to ensure the most efficient processing time for your convenience.
What are International Customs Fees and are they included in our prices?
No, they are not included in the prices we quote you. International Customs Fees are payable for each way of your water taxi transfer. Customs fees to enter the BVI are $65 per person and $45 for entry into the United States on the return. The BVI has also recently instituted a $10 per person Environmental Tax for entry
Is gratuity included in your prices?
Gratuity is not included, but greatly appreciated at your discretion for the captain and crew members
